Thomas Jefferson said, "I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it."
Well, I guess that's true enough. So it's back to work tomorrow - hooray for Monday. But for me also a start to a count down to vacation in Vegas with one of my most favorite people - Marci. I'll need all the luck I can get while I'm there so I guess I shoudl work hard in the mean time. Haha.
Happy Monday everyone! Have a great week.
So I'm a big baby...so what?
For those of you who don't know, I walk to work. It's not too far, about 10 blocks or maybe a little less. Most of the time I enjoy it. However, right now it is exceptionally cold outside. Okay, if you are in New York or some other equally cold locale, it's probably barely even cool, but for this California girl, it's COLD. Low's in the 20's and high's in the 40's. Tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday are supposed to be the coldest days before this cold front moves on. SO, I decided to take a vacation day. A day for me to stay snuggled up warm in bed until a reasonable hour when I will get up and clean my house. Or lay around. Or go shopping. Whatever. It's a vacation day. I don't have to if I don't want to. Spoiled? Maybe. Or perhaps, one more stroke of luck in the life of THE LUCKIEST GIRL - EVER.
Have a good weekend everyone - and try and stay warm!
Another lazy day...
Today I have not too much to do. I should be doing some laundry, or perhaps cleaning out my closets, but instead I am laying on the couch watching one of my favorite movies, You've Got Mail, and working my way through an entire pot of coffee. It's lovely.
Now for the sad news...my neighbor and good friend is moving. Lauri has been my downtown sidekick for about two years. She lives in the apartment above me, and she knows everything and everyone in the building, and has been an integral part of my 'belonging' here. We go to breakfast on the weekends, grocery shopping, mall walking, etc. We take day trips to surrounding areas and watch Gilmore Girls and Project Runway together. She's only moving a few blocks, and I'm really happy for her, but I will miss my neighbor.
The Perfect Saturday Morning...
Today has already been awesome, and it's only 10am! I slept great last night, got up around 8, cleaned the house, and now I'm sitting in my lovely (clean) apartment with all the blinds open (hooray for the sun!) and a good cup of coffee. Both of the kitties are napping in the sun, and one of my favorite CD's is on. It's awesome...
Happy New Year!
Another year gone. I can hardly believe it. It seems like it wasn't too long ago I was standing in the rain at my first New Year in Sacramento and now here I am at my third. I guess every year it's routine to make resolutions or think about where you are and where you are going, so why should this year be any different?
This past year has been a good one for me. I have an AWESOME new apartment, a FANTASTIC new position at work, and am well on my way to making even more of my dreams come true.
Happy New Year everyone - I wish you all the best life has to offer.
